What the catalog covers
The catalog presents two main types of fiber arrays: V-groove fiber arrays and 2D matrix fiber arrays. It also includes examples of related mechanical and interface options, such as metal housings, fiber protection using tubing, and connector interfaces.
V-groove fiber arrays use a linear arrangement of fibers positioned in precision-machined grooves. The catalog provides simplified representations of different configurations, making it easier to identify the general fiber arrangement and associated mechanical concept required for an application.
2D matrix fiber arrays provide a two-dimensional arrangement of fibers. The catalog includes different matrix configurations, including m × n and hexagonal arrangements, together with examples of different fiber and mechanical configurations.
The catalog is not intended to serve as a detailed dimensional specification. Instead, it uses simplified technical drawings with general dimensions and configuration characteristics. These drawings provide a common reference for discussing the required fiber arrangement, mechanical design and interface, helping to simplify communication between the customer and SQS.
The catalog can therefore be used as a convenient starting point when identifying a suitable fiber optic array and preparing a technical inquiry or RFQ.

Custom fiber arrays beyond the catalog
The configurations shown in the catalog represent common arrangements and should not be considered a complete list of SQS manufacturing capabilities.
SQS also manufactures custom fiber arrays according to individual application requirements. The required fiber type, arrangement, geometry, mechanical design, protection and interface can be discussed directly with the SQS technical team.
Custom V-groove fiber arrays, 2D matrix fiber arrays and other fiber-array configurations can be produced for applications requiring a specific arrangement that is not represented in the catalog. Manufacturing is possible from small series through series production, depending on the requirements of the project.
If a required configuration is not shown in the catalog, customers are still encouraged to contact SQS. The catalog is a starting point for discussion, not a limitation of the available configurations.

The new Fiber Arrays Catalog provides a simple way to identify and communicate a potential configuration before starting a technical discussion. If the required arrangement is not included, customers can still send their requirements to SQS for evaluation and discussion of a suitable custom fiber array.
