The company is located in the town of Nová Paka, in the Czech Republic, where it has a new administration building, with 6 000 m2 of manufacturing, of which 4 000 m2 are a clean room environment with filtered air handling equipment, electrostatic flooring, and is fully equipped for the most demanding production and assembly of optical components. The manufactoring area can be doubled in short time, if there is need for it. Also, SQS Vláknová optika a.s. possesses a piece of land which has 20 000 m2. The number of employees in the manufacturing, sales, research and development, and quality departments, has SQS belonging to the medium size of companies within the fiber optic industry. SQS has developed and maintains a high quality management system and has been certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

History:

SQS Vláknova optika a.s. company, was founded in 1994 as a Czech company specializing in manufacturing of passive optical interconnect modules, and optical patchcords. The company was operating at that time, under the name Diamond CS s.r.o., which was initially focussed on the Swiss patented technology of active core alignment connectors. In October 2000, SQS changed its name from Diamond CS to SQS Vláknová optika s.r.o. because from that time it has broadened the assortment of its products with a complete line of "classic" ceramic one-layer connectors and is providing these products and services on a worldwide basis to major customers in the fibre optic industry. Effective December 30th, 2002, SQS Vláknová optika s.r.o. company has been transformed from a limited company to a corporation.

Present:

SQS Vláknová optika a.s. is a Czech manufacturing corporation, also having its own R&D department. SQS Vláknová optika a.s. manufactures and supplies a wide assortment of fibre optic products and optical connectors from world-wide manufacturers as well as being able to make technologic modifications as requested by customers to these products. SQS also provides the services of connectorizing of optical interfaces by standard one-layer connectors to select manufacturers of fibre optic devices, with priority focusing on top quality and special applications.
