Monitoring line system of a fiber optic routes

Monitoring Line System MLS is made up of hardware and software and is used for continuous monitoring of fiber-optic communication links for the following purpose:
  • to help to maintain uninterrupted transmission;
  • to insure high quality and safe transmission;¨
  • to provide continuous active protection of transmitted data.

MLS brings reliably to one’s attention any interruption to the signal transmission over the optical fiber caused by climatic or mechanical impact, unintended damage to the cables (due to construction activity) or intentional damage to the transmission medium (eavesdropping or any intentional disturbances or distortion to the data being transmitted…).
Main characteristics:
  • Monitoring of physical layer (optical fiber).
  • Modular design enables customization for wide spectrum of applications.
  • Local or remote control of the equipment via Ethernet – TCP/IP protocol.
  • Monitoring of dark as well as lit fibers.
  • Management of the system via web interface.
  • Event setting and data logging as well as customized management and reporting.
  • Event notification via variety of media channels such as e-mail and SMS.
  • Failure prediction – monitoring on longer, more sensitive wavelength.
